Our tour with Laura at Fushimi Inari Taisha was the best activity of our trip so far. She is incredibly knowledgeable, but even more than that, she is genuinely fun to be around. It felt like a friend was showing us around her hometown. We laughed together, talked about things beyond the tour, asked her all kinds of questions, and she gave us great perspective on everything we were seeing.
The first half of the tour was peaceful and almost surreal. We did not see any other foreigners and the quiet of the mountain paths made the experience unforgettable. I especially loved visiting the abandoned shrine. Once we came down the other side of the mountain, we finally started seeing tourists, but it still was not too crowded. It actually made us even more grateful that we explored the quieter side first.
Laura is fantastic and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a unique, thoughtful, and really enjoyable experience at Fushimi Inari.
